 win a trip to germany!

This year we're incredibly excited to be working with the Young Economic Summit, YES!

YES! is a competition for high school students dealing with global problems in the realm of economy, policy, society and environment. We are inviting students from year 10, 11 and 12, or S4, 5 and 6 in Scotland, who attend state schools to find innovative solutions to some of the most difficult problems we face. You don't need to be studying economics to enter, as long as you've got innovative solutions, we want to hear them!

The two UK finalists will receive coaching and guidance from practising economists working in the Health Foundation, a charity producing cutting edge economic analysis on the subject of health, and McKinsey, a globally renowned management consultancy, to hone their ideas ready for the final in Hamburg! The best videos will also be showcased by the Financial Times!

This year we're asking teams of between 3 to 8 student and answer one of the following two questions:

Brain food: How can a government best ensure that all children have enough to eat?

Vaccine roll out: How would you decide who should get limited vaccine supplies?

See here for full instructions on how to submit your video along with judging criteria.

For your opportunity to win a free trip to Hamburg to compete against students from all over Germany, please answer one of these questions by making a video up to 2 minutes and 20 seconds long to maeve.cohen@res.org.uk. Maeve is very happy to answer any questions you might have at any point in the process as well so please do get in touch!

Submissions are open until 31st March 2021
