Introduction
This classroom and careers guidance resource has been designed to help students understand what economics really is and where it can lead. Through myth-busting activities, lesson ideas, tutor time prompts and progression pathways, the resource explores how economics connects to real-world issues including climate change, healthcare, AI, inequality and public policy.
Created in partnership with Discover Economics, the handout also highlights the importance of representation and encourages students from all backgrounds to see economics as a subject for them.

This resource can be used as a standalone careers education tool, or alongside the associated posters and “Meet an Economist” resources to support a full lesson or enrichment activity.

How long will the activity take?
