Young Economist of the Year 2026
sponsored by KPMG UK and ft schools
A huge thank you to everyone who entered the Young Economist of the Year competition 2026! We had 1954 submissions and over 3000 young people participating this year. Our judges were very impressed with the quality of the entries!
After much deliberation, with thanks to our markers, we have shortlisted our five finalists. Listed below, we also have commended entries that our judges wanted to acknowledge. Please note that unfortunately due to the high volume of entries, we are unable to give feedback on individual submissions.
Our on-the-day judges include Chris Jenkins (KPMG), Isobel Dawson (Econosaurus), Tom Aldred (HM Treasury) and Soumaya Keynes (Financial Times).
Congratulations to you all!
